Lakes of Gum Cove Ducks Unlimited Terracing Project
The Lakes of Gum Cove Ducks Unlimited Terracing Project was completed in the fall of 2021. SWS was selected by M&C Oilfield Services to supply and install the wetland vegetation for the project. 51,440 linear feet of terraces were vegetated with bare root plugs of Spartina alterniflora cv. vermilion. SWS provided nursery grown plugs from its facility in Lake Charles, LA. A crew of 10 installers, supported by two airboats, installed the 35,000 bare root plugs in 6 days. The project was completed on time and has achieved 99% rate of survival.
